Arash Zainaleain concentrates his practice in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax planning for all stages of the business venture life cycle. He guides individuals and business owners through the preparation of estate plans ranging from foundational documents to more sophisticated tax planning strategies. His experience includes implementing estate plans involving Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts (IDGTs), Family Limited Partnerships (FLPs), and other planning techniques for owners of closely held businesses and income-producing real estate. He also advises clients on probate avoidance, asset protection planning, and Medicaid planning considerations.
Arash represents personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries throughout the administration process, including probate proceedings, trust administration, estate accountings, and fiduciary tax matters. He prepares federal and Massachusetts estate, gift, fiduciary, partnership, and trust tax returns and has experience appearing in Massachusetts Probate and Family Court on trust and estate matters.
Prior to joining OAR Law, Arash practiced estate planning, trust and estate administration, business law, and real estate law. His experience includes advising business owners on corporate and employment matters, drafting buy-sell agreements, stock purchase agreements, employee separation agreements, and other business transactions, as well as representing buyers and sellers in residential and commercial real estate transactions. He has also prepared tax opinion memoranda addressing federal employee retention tax credit eligibility.
Before entering private practice, Arash worked in the financial services industry, where he provided financial planning and analysis, retirement projections, and insurance strategies for individuals and business owners. That experience continues to inform his estate planning practice, allowing him to guide clients with care and expertise where legal, tax, and financial planning considerations meet.
Arash earned both his Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the Public Interest Law Journal and a finalist in the American Bar Association’s 19th Annual Law Student Tax Challenge for the LL.M. Division.
